What Is URL?


URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator is a set of characters according to a certain standard formats, used to indicate the address of a source - such as documents and images - on the Internet.


URL is an innovation base for the development of Internet history. URL was first coined by Tim Berners-Lee [citation needed] in 1991 so that document authors can refer the document link to Jagat Jembar Networks or the World Wide Web. Since 1994, the concept has developed into the term URL Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), a more general nature. Nevertheless, the term URL is still used widely.
